DVI Technologies developed Prioto solutions to help businesses, regardless of size, save money by turning their inefficient, high energy-using buildings into smart buildings.
While factored into the design and construction stages of a new commercial building, a system to strategically improve energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of older buildings has, until recently, been reserved for large buildings or companies with deep pockets.
Experts in delivering IT infrastructure, networking services, and electrical & telecoms installations around the world, DVI has capitalised on their proficiency in engineering automation and created a range of energy-saving solutions that can be controlled via advanced, IoT-based (Internet of Things) technology.
With a combined experience of 50 years working in the construction and engineering sectors, James and Stephen went into business together in 1998 and established DVI Technologies.
The idea for Prioto came about when DVI was introduced to a heating system that many of their customers were commissioning them to install on their premises. The heating system had been marketed to their customers as a massive money saver; however, through installation and maintenance contracts, DVI soon learned that the system wouldn’t achieve the promised savings for their customers.
So, having deemed the heating not fit-for-purpose and with smart technology on the rise, the engineering and automation experts sought out a solution that would be suitable for commercial buildings, and financially affordable for smaller businesses where a BMS typically meant a costly capital investment.
Prioto was created initially as a heating system that could be controlled remotely. But the team saw the potential to remotely manage and monitor other aspects of a building – such as lighting, doors, windows, and more – using IoT-based technology and have worked to create a suite of energy and time-saving solutions for businesses and buildings, large and small.
